Cropping Photos…

In a composition, cropping photos might help to make the piece more cohesive. Some different ways to crop a photo are…

  1. Hard Crop : this is when you have four hard corners that are containing the image.
  2. Soft Crop : a feather gradient incorporates the image into the composition.
  3. Split Crop : divide a photo into two
  4. Stick Out Crop : mask a part of the photo (this help create depth)
  5. Knock Out : isolate the subject and remove the background
  6. False Crop: the photo is covered by another element creating a false crop
  7. Shape Crop : crop the photo into a shape
