I enjoy thrifting. It’s both affordable and eco-conscious. Some of my favorite fashion staples have come from second-hand stores. There are many ways to make the thrifting experience smoother.
- Have a mood board or research trending styles.
Just because it’s been donated doesn’t mean it’s out of style. I can’t tell you how much fast fashion has affected the trend cycle of this generation. Trends these days have a shorter shelf life than the delicate produce you forget about in the fridge. That’s why you need to be on the lookout for re-emerging trends like nice button-up blouses, sweaters, and in recent months flare jeans.
2. Don’t be afraid to shop outside your size/gender.
I have found so many cute oversized shirts and sweaters to keep me warm in the winter, plus look really cute with a pair of leggings. I also find so many pants and jeans in the men’s section that fit better than most women’s jeans.
3. Check brands/materials.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed while thrifting. Checking the brand or what an item is made of can help you distinguish what is good quality or not.
